ABOUT
Maribel Arriaga Santibanez is a native Mexican-Fashion Designer living in the United States since 1985. Maribel was born in the small city of Zitacuaro, Michoacan. She was raised with 5 sisters and 2 brothers in a very loving family.
She attended a secretary academy and graduated at the age of 17. Maribel started working for Resistol, a German technology company. In order to improve her English she decided to move to Houston during the summer of 1985 and attended the school at First Baptist Church.
A year later she got married and had two beautiful children from her marriage. After 13 years of marriage she divorced, Maribel was left to raise her children alone. She overcame the odds of single motherhood with the support of her friends and family. In 2002 she became an OSHA authorize Safety Specialist as her first career in USA and worked for 10 years as a safety instructor.
Maribel always has had a passion for fashion designing and art as a form of expression. After raising her children she went back to sketching focusing on women’s wear and jewelry. She later met the very well known jewelry designer Felipe Barbosa based out of San Miguel de Allende where the two decided to join forces and create a jewelry and accessory line.
Once a dream to have her own clothing line is now a reality- MBELLE COUTURE DESIGNS was born in 2014. Her designs are not only trade marked but patent pending as well. She continues to enjoy designing and creating with always the same goal in mind: To make women feel their best about themselves.
Maribel still resides in Houston TX and is a proud young grandmother of 4 beautiful children. Nino, Lily, Shane and Luca.
